High-quality vehicle wraps are the most cost-effective method to advertise your company, especially if they are made with high-quality materials because they’ll last for a long time. With a vehicle wrap, you make a one-time investment and reap their amazing benefits for a few years without spending more money. Today, we want to write about some vehicle wrap maintenance tips so you can prolong your vinyl graphics’ lifetime and get the most out of them for many years to come!
Get the Most Out of Your Vinyl Wraps with These Simple Steps
1) Wash Your Vehicle Wrap Periodically
Whether you have a vehicle wrap or not, it is recommended that you wash your car regularly. While vinyl wraps do not require any particular technique for cleaning, certain products are recommended and can be used when washing your vehicles, such as 3M™ Car Wash Soap 39000, Meguiar’s NXT Generation® Car Wash, and Deep Crystal® Car Wash.
If you prefer to take your vehicle to a car wash, it is recommended to choose a touch-less car wash, since brush car washes may scratch or harm the vinyl wrap.
2) Protect Your Vinyl Wrap from the Sun
It is true that premium vinyl wraps are very resistant, but if they are exposed to the sun for extended periods of time, eventually they’ll start degrading and have a reduced lifetime. That’s the reason why we highly recommend storing the wrapped vehicles in an indoor space like a garage when they are not in use. If covered parking is not available, then look for a shaded spot to protect from the sun and other contaminants.
3) If Exposed to Contaminants, Wash As Soon As Possible
When driving, your vehicle is exposed to contaminants such as bird droppings, acid rain, and many other elements. If time is allowed to pass without washing the car promptly, it will be harder to remove, and eventually, the vinyl material can be damaged or even ripped off when trying to clean it.
There are certain products that you can use to easily protect your vehicle wraps, such as Meguiar’s Gold Class™ and 3M™ Citrus Base Cleaner. Also, when filling the tank at the gas station and the fuel spills accidentally, make sure to wash it away immediately to avoid significant damage to the vinyl surface.
